Dianne Feinstein

Dianne Goldman Berman Feinstein is the senior United States Senator from California. A member of the Democratic Party, she has served in the Senate since 1992. She also served as the 38th Mayor of San Francisco from 1978 to 1988.

Feinstein was born Dianne Emiel Goldman in San Francisco, to Betty , a former model, and Leon Goldman, a surgeon. Feinsteins paternal grandparents were Jewish immigrants from Poland, while her maternal grandparents, the Rosenburg family, from Saint Petersburg Russia, were of GermanJewish ancestry, but were of the Russian Orthodox faith as was required for many Jews to reside in Saint Petersburg.
